Today's Solution

The public has any numbers of ways at their disposal to deal with wildlife effectively. The best way is to deal with it before it happens. Start with simple things like locking up all garbage in an animal proof bin, removing all bird feeders at night and keeping them tidy during the day. Talk to neighbors and make sure they are not encouraging wildlife by feeding them through handouts, garbage, pet food left out or bird feeders. Keep the yard tidy by removing all rubbish. Clear out old woodpiles and any piles of debris that would make a suitable home for animals. Seal underneath sheds, decks, porches, and garages. Take away possible den sites in your back yard before it becomes one. Keeping your house in good repair helps keep wildlife out but it still won't keep determined animals out. Mothers needing to raise young easily find vulnerable areas on any home to enter or they simply tear or chew a hole where they can.
